Did you know that male ducks are called Drakes? That might sound like the name of someone you might know right? Well, it is also the name of this lovely looking striped duck. With its squatting position, it looks like a hen on her eggs trying to hatch while keeping a look out on the environment for any potential threat. With its beautiful white and black stripes, it would qualify as an all-blending décor item.
The resin-made Duck Stripe Squat showcases an artist's proclivity towards a life-like recreation of a beautiful decorative piece of a duck. This duck features a brightly painted duck in a squatting position. It is a known fact that duck hens have to squat on their eggs for about a month depending on the specie. When not hatching, they tend to squat when roosting. As a result, the talented artist not only creates this decorative piece in likeness of the appearance and looks of the real, but also imbues it with the character and behaviour of the real by having it squat. The feet and beak are painted in caramel-brown while the other parts are painted in white. On the back of the duck however, can be seen black stripes temporarily punctuating the white colour. It would look especially great when it stoops close to planters containing flowers.
